HOW TO PASS THE ROYAL NAVY OFFICER AIB

Royal Navy Officer AIB Speed, Distance + Time / Planning Exercise workbook

If you are attending the Royal Navy Officer Admiralty Interview Board (AIB), then you will be fully aware of the hard task that lies ahead of you. This comprehensive 80-page workbook has been specifically designed to provide you with HUNDREDS of sample Speed, Distance and Time (SDT) practice questions and planning exercises to put you well ahead of the competition during your time at the Admiralty Interview Board.

The AIB is designed to assess whether you have the right personal qualities and attributes to become a successful Royal Navy officer. The only way you will pass it is through hard work and determination.

There are two key elements to passing the AIB –

1) How you perform.

2) How you behave.

Whilst there are many different factors that can influence each element, they both must be taken seriously. For example, during one of the evenings at the AIB you will be allowed to visit the bar and mix with young officer recruits who are part-way through their training. This is not a time to get drunk and let your hair down, but a time to relax and find out as much as you can about the training you will undertake if you are to be successful at the AIB. Whilst an evening in the bar is not assessable, how you behave certainly is!

The Board will naturally expect you to have found out as much as you can about the Royal Navy and they will ask you questions about ships and equipment and your chosen specialisation so make sure you are fully prepared. It is also a good idea for you to have looked for opportunities for responsibility and personal development.

To make your life easier for you we have compiled a fantastic AIB workbook that will help you prepare fully for your assessment.

AIB WORKBOOK – SPEED, DISTANCE AND TIME

This section of the workbook contains 100’s of sample Speed, Distance and Time questions. It is imperative that you are competent in the use of SDT calculations when you attend the Navy Officer Admiralty Interview Board – they are an integral part of testing throughout the assessment. This comprehensive workbook will provide you with a mass of sample questions including answers to the questions.

ROYAL NAVY OFFICER AIB WORKBOOK – 8 PLANNING EXERCISES

The AIB Workbook contains 8 sample individual/group planning exercises varying in degrees of complexity. Each exercise will take you 15-20 minutes to complete. These exercises are an excellent resource for allowing you to hone your skills prior to the AIB assessment. Solutions to each exercise are provided for you in the workbook.

The whole purpose of the AIB is to determine if you have the ‘potential’ to become a naval officer. If you have the potential then there is a greater chance that you will pass Initial Training Course. The Royal Navy will be investing literally hundreds of thousands of pounds into your development and career progression. Therefore, they want to be sure that you have the potential to pass every stage of training.

In order to assess the ‘potential’ the Royal Navy will assess you against a series of qualities and competencies.

Some of the qalities that you need to demonstrate at AIB include:

•    Determination.

•    Resolute.

•    Persistent.

•    Unwavering.

•    Steady.

•    Able to overcome most difficulties.

•    Strong-willed.

Tip: You are applying to join the Royal Navy as an officer. Therefore, it is crucial that you are able to remain calm in a crisis, be totally focused on achieving the end result and be determined to succeed at everything you do.

For example, during the planning exercise stage you will be placed under considerable pressure by the assessing officers. If you do not know the answer to a question then it is better to say so, rather than panic, waffle or crumble under the pressure. One of the main purposes of Admiralty Interview Board is to determine whether or not you have the ability to stay focused under pressure.

This excellent workbook will provide you with the practice you need in order to become a Royal Navy officer. Get your copy today!
